Our new blog is a forum for members to discuss issues affecting the sector and the practice of philanthropy.Founded in 1979, Philanthropy New York serves as a vibrant meeting ground for philanthropic organizations based in the metropolitan New York City region—the birthplace of modern philanthropy. Our almost three hundred member organizations make grants throughout New York City and State, across the U.S., and around the world. Taken as a whole, the almost $4 billion awarded annually by these organizations represents one of the most potent concentrations of philanthropic resources in the United States.
Philanthropy New York supports this work by providing a broad range of services to staff and trustees at private, corporate, and other grantmaking organizations, and staff and family members at family foundations.
