Marjorie Rutimann serves as Philanthropy New York’s Director of Professional Education. Each year, her department offers funders more than 100 learning opportunities in the form of programs, teleconferences, and webinars. These events are designed for a range of grantmaking organizations, professional roles, and areas of funding interest. Their goal is to help participants gain expertise, expand their professional network, and increase their effectiveness. Marjorie also serves as staff liaison for Philanthropy New York’s City Connect Committee and for its Family Foundation Trustees Peer Network (FTTPN).
Before joining Philanthropy New York in 1999, Marjorie was a consultant in public programming in education and the arts. She managed projects for corporate giving programs, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Modern Language Association. She has a BA from Bard College and an MA in English Literature from New York University.
