A Philanthropy New York ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES program, presented with Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA).
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Trustees, CEOs, program officers, and grantmakers interested in environmental issues and clean energy solutions, and in issues facing the Gulf Coast region.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
In the aftermath of the BP Oil Spill Disaster, foundations in the New York metro-region have begun to provide significant support, as they did after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Gulf Coast region, struggling to recover from the hurricanes, now faces a new environmental disaster. In this session, a panel consisting of foundation and community leaders will provide an update on the spill, regional impacts, and short- and long-term funding strategies. EGA will provide a matrix of funding opportunities recommended by funder colleagues.
